E-Commerce Hosting — Hosting for Online Stores | Offshore Hosting
An online store is not a brochure website. It takes payments, holds live order data, and loses money the moment checkout breaks. E-Commerce Hosting is built around that reality: the store must stay fast for shoppers, checkout must never be cached, and a backup must never silently overwrite orders placed after the backup was taken.
Who It Suits
E-Commerce Hosting suits store owners running WooCommerce on WordPress, from a new store with a handful of products to an established store taking regular daily orders. It suits owners who want staging to test changes safely, and owners who would rather have hosting tasks managed for them than handle updates themselves.
Who It Does NOT Suit
It does not suit stores that need a custom-built platform outside WordPress and WooCommerce, stores with regulatory requirements our hosting is not designed for, or stores expecting very large traffic spikes without prior notice. It is also not a substitute for a developer: hosting keeps the environment running; building and customising the store itself remains a separate service.
WooCommerce Compatibility
- We host WordPress with WooCommerce. Compatibility is confirmed against the versions published by WordPress and WooCommerce at the time of ordering.
- Supported WordPress and WooCommerce versions: [TO BE CONFIRMED BY OWNER].
- PHP version and required extensions for WooCommerce are configured on our servers. The exact PHP versions available are [TO BE CONFIRMED BY OWNER].
- Themes and plugins are your choice and your responsibility. A poorly written plugin can slow or break a store regardless of the hosting underneath it, and we will tell you when a performance problem traces back to a plugin rather than the server.
Staging
- A staging copy of your store lets you test theme changes, plugin updates, and new features without touching the live shop.
- Staging availability by plan: [TO BE CONFIRMED BY OWNER].
- Never test with live payment credentials on staging. Use your payment provider’s test mode, and never copy live customer or order data into a staging environment unless you understand the privacy implications.
- Pushing staging changes to live overwrites live files and, depending on the method, database content. Always back up the live store before pushing staging changes to production.
Checkout and Caching
Caching makes a store fast, but a cached checkout page is a broken store. Our caching configuration excludes the pages that must never be cached:
- Cart, checkout, and account pages are excluded from page caching.
- Dynamic content such as cart totals and logged-in sessions is not served from cache.
- If you use a third-party caching or CDN service, you must apply the same exclusions there. A misconfigured CDN caching your checkout page will break orders no matter how the hosting is set up.
- Cache configuration details by plan are [TO BE CONFIRMED BY OWNER].
Database Load
A store’s database carries products, variations, orders, customers, and logs. As order volume grows, database load grows with it.
- Keep order and log data within the limits of your plan, and prune old logs and expired transients regularly. If the database grows large or queries slow down, support can advise on optimisation or a plan upgrade.
Backups and Restoration
Backups of a live store need care that a brochure site does not.
- Backups cover your store files and database on the schedule included with your plan. Backup frequency and retention: [TO BE CONFIRMED BY OWNER].
- Restoring a backup will remove orders placed after the backup was taken. Before requesting a restore, export recent orders, or ask support to help preserve them. A restore is a deliberate decision, not a routine undo.
- Test your restore process before you need it in an emergency. Knowing that backups exist is not the same as knowing they restore correctly.
- Keep your own off-site copy of critical store data, including product and order exports, outside the hosting account.
Payment Integration Boundaries
- Your payment gateway accounts — the contracts with your payment providers — are yours. We host the store; we do not hold your merchant accounts.
- Payment plugins connect your store to your gateway. Configuring gateway credentials, test mode, and settlement settings is your responsibility, or your developer’s.
- We do not process payments, store card details, or see your customers’ payment information. Card data is handled by your payment provider, not by our hosting.
- If checkout fails, the cause may be the gateway, the plugin, or the hosting. Support can check the hosting side and help you identify which one it is.
Managed E-Commerce
For store owners who want day-to-day hosting work handled, a managed e-commerce option is available.
- Managed e-commerce includes [TO BE CONFIRMED BY OWNER — scope of managed services].
- What managed e-commerce does not include: store design, product uploads, pricing, order fulfilment, customer service, and payment gateway account management. Those remain yours.
- Managed e-commerce availability and pricing: [TO BE CONFIRMED BY OWNER].
Requirements
- A domain name pointed at the hosting account, WordPress and WooCommerce installed, and a payment gateway account with your provider.
- An SSL certificate is required for any store taking payments. SSL provision: [TO BE CONFIRMED BY OWNER].
- Keep WordPress, WooCommerce, themes, and plugins updated. Outdated software is the most common cause of store compromises.
Responsibilities
- We handle: the hosting environment, server availability, caching configuration on our side, and the backup schedule included with your plan.
- You handle: your store, products, prices, orders, customers, payment gateway accounts, themes, plugins, updates, and your own data exports.
Limits
- Resource limits depend on your plan and are [TO BE CONFIRMED BY OWNER].
- We do not guarantee sales, conversion rates, or search rankings.
- Support covers hosting, not store design, product configuration, or payment provider decisions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I migrate my existing WooCommerce store?
Yes. See our Migration page. A store migration includes files and the database, and we plan it so live orders are not lost in the move.
What happens to orders if I restore a backup?
Orders placed after the backup was taken are lost in the restore unless they were exported first. Always export recent orders before requesting a restoration.
Do you provide an SSL certificate?
SSL provision is [TO BE CONFIRMED BY OWNER]. Every store taking payments must have a valid SSL certificate in place.
Will caching break my checkout?
Not when configured correctly. Cart, checkout, and account pages are excluded from caching on our side. If you add your own caching service, apply the same exclusions there.
Get Started
Tell support how many products your store has, how many orders you take in a typical day, and which payment gateway you use. We will recommend a plan size and say plainly whether managed e-commerce would save you time.
