Report Abuse — Report Misuse of Our Services | Offshore Hosting

If you believe a website, service, or account hosted by Offshore Hosting is being used for spam, phishing, malware, copyright infringement, fraud, or any other abuse, you can report it here. We take abuse reports seriously and investigate them — but we cannot promise a specific outcome or a specific timeline, because each report has to be investigated on its facts.

How to Report

  • Abuse reporting channel: [TO BE CONFIRMED BY OWNER — abuse report email address or form URL].
  • Do not use the support ticket route for abuse reports. Abuse reports are handled through the channel above so they reach the right team.
  • If the abuse involves an immediate threat to safety, contact your local law enforcement first, then report it to us.

What to Include

A report we can act on needs specifics. Include as much of the following as you can:

  1. The exact URL, domain, or IP address where the abuse is happening. A homepage address is not enough if the abuse is on a specific page — give the full link.
  2. What the abuse is — spam, phishing, malware, copyright infringement, fraud, or something else — in your own words.
  3. Evidence — screenshots, full email headers for spam or phishing reports, or the exact text of the abusive content. For email abuse, full headers are essential; without them we cannot trace the message.
  4. When it happened — dates and times, including your timezone.
  5. Your contact details — so we can ask follow-up questions if the report is unclear. We will not publish your details.
  6. For copyright complaints: identify the copyrighted work, where it appears on our network, and confirm that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them. A copyright complaint without this information cannot be processed.

Reports that say only “this site is bad” without a URL, evidence, or a description of the abuse cannot be investigated. The more precise your report, the faster it can be assessed.

What Happens After You Report

  1. Receipt. Your report is received by the abuse team. Acknowledgement of receipt: [TO BE CONFIRMED BY OWNER].
  2. Assessment. We check whether the reported activity is hosted on our network, and whether it violates our Acceptable Use Policy or our Terms of Service.
  3. Action. If a violation is confirmed, we take action under our Terms of Service. The action depends on the severity of the violation and may include warning the customer, suspending the content, or terminating the account.
  4. Outcome. We do not promise to tell you the outcome of an investigation, or the timeline for it. In many cases we cannot disclose what action was taken against a customer, for privacy and legal reasons.

What We Do Not Promise

  • No outcome timeline. We do not commit to resolving a report within a specific number of hours or days. Investigation time depends on the complexity of the report.
  • No guaranteed removal. We act when a violation of our policies is confirmed. Content that is lawful and within our policies will not be removed because someone objects to it.
  • No legal advice. We cannot advise you on your legal rights or whether to take legal action. If you need that advice, consult a lawyer in your jurisdiction.

If You Are Our Customer and Receive an Abuse Complaint

If we contact you about an abuse complaint against your account:

  • Read the complaint carefully and respond promptly through the channel we used to contact you.
  • Do not delete evidence. If you believe the complaint is mistaken, say so and provide the facts.
  • If the complaint is valid, fix the problem. Continued violations after a warning may lead to suspension or termination under our Terms of Service.
  • If you disagree with our decision, you may appeal by replying to the same correspondence. Appeals are reviewed on the facts; an appeal is not a guarantee of reversal.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I report anonymously?
You can report without giving your name, but anonymous reports are harder to follow up when details are missing. Providing contact details helps us investigate and does not mean your details will be shared with the reported customer.

How long will an investigation take?
We do not publish a timeline. Simple reports may be assessed quickly; complex ones take longer.

Will you tell me what action you took?
Not necessarily. We may confirm that a report was received and assessed, but we generally do not disclose action taken against a customer.

What if the abusive site is not hosted by you?
If the content is not on our network, we cannot act on it. Check the domain’s hosting provider and report it there, or report it to the domain registrar.

Is reporting abuse the same as opening a support ticket?
No. Abuse reports go through the abuse channel above. Support tickets are for customer account and hosting help.
