# Knowledge Base

The Knowledge Base holds practical guides for using your Offshore Hosting account:
setup, domains, email, backups, security, and troubleshooting. Each article answers
one question in plain language, with the steps in order.

Use the search box on this page to find an article, or browse the topics below.
If an article does not solve your problem, open a ticket through our [Support](https://offshorehosting.pk/support/)
page and mention which article you followed.

## How to Use This Knowledge Base

Start with the article title that matches your question. Each article answers one
question in plain language, with the steps in order and the settings named exactly
as they appear in the panel. If you are new to hosting, read the Getting Started
articles first — they explain the account, the control panel, and pointing a domain,
which are the foundations everything else builds on. If something breaks, go straight
to the Troubleshooting checklist before changing settings: it helps you work out
whether the problem is your site, your connection, or the server, and what to report
to support so the fix is fast. Articles assume you are working in the control panel
provided with your plan; if a step mentions a feature your plan does not include,
contact support and we will tell you the alternative.

## Getting Started

 1. **Getting started with your hosting account** — What to do first after your account
is created: logging in, finding your service details, and pointing your domain.
 2. **How to point your domain to Offshore Hosting** — Updating nameservers or DNS
records at your registrar so your domain loads from our servers.
 3. **Understanding your hosting control panel** — A tour of the panel: where files,
databases, email, and domains are managed.

## Domains and DNS

 4. **How DNS records work: A, CNAME, MX, and TXT** — What each common record type
does, and which ones you need to change for hosting, email, and verification.
 5. **How to renew and manage your domain** — Renewal, auto-renewal, nameserver changes,
and keeping your domain contact details current.

## Email

 6. **Setting up email on your domain** — Creating mailboxes, connecting an email client,
    and the settings you need.
 7. **Fixing email delivery problems** — SPF, DKIM, and DMARC explained, and the checks
to run when mail is not arriving or is going to spam.

## Backups and Security

 8. **How backups and restoration work** — What is backed up, how often, how long
backups are kept, and how to request a restore.
 9. **Keeping your website secure: updates, passwords, and SSL** — The routine habits
that prevent most compromises: updates, strong credentials, and a valid SSL certificate.

## Troubleshooting

 10. **Website down? A step-by-step checklist** — How to tell whether the problem is
your site, your connection, or the server, and what to report to support.

## A Note on These Articles

The titles above are the planned Knowledge Base contents. Full articles are a separate
task and will be published here as they are written. Until then, if you need help
with any of these topics, contact support and we will walk you through it directly.

## Still Stuck?

If you followed an article and the problem remains, open a support ticket and tell
us which article you followed and where you got stuck. That detail matters: it tells
support exactly what you already tried, so the answer starts from the right place
instead of repeating steps you have done. Include any error message word for word,
and the time the problem started. Support covers the hosting environment; if the
problem turns out to be in your website’s code, a plugin, or a third-party script,
we will say so and point you to the right help rather than keep you waiting.

## Suggest an Article

If you searched for something and did not find it, tell support what you were looking
for. Requests for new articles help us decide what to write next.
